France's best fighter of World War I was manufactured by the Societe Pour l'Avions et ses Derives. America's greatest ace, Eddie Rickenbacker scored most of his 26 victories in the SPAD.

The Camel's exceptional maneuverability led to the downfall of 2900 enemy aircraft and made it the top scorer of Great Britain's Royal Flying Corps. Its nickname comes from the rounded enclosure over the breeches of its twin, forward firing Vickers machine guns.

The Albatros was a favorite of German pilots during the early years of World War I. Its large spinner and streamlined fuselage were unusual during this period.

The "Jenny" became famous as a primary trainer for America's World War I pilots. After the war, gypsy pilots known as "barnstormers" toured the country with surplus "Jenny's" giving rides and aerial demonstrations.
